May. 25, 2004 12:00 AM
EMC Corporation extended its NetWin family of NAS products with a low-cost model targeted at the entry-level NAS market. The Microsoft Windows-based NetWin 110 has a starting list price of $6,100. It will be sold exclusively through authorized EMC distributors including Arrow Electronics, Avnet Hall-Mark, and Tech Data. The new EMC NetWin 110 NAS Gateway, based on the Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 platform, is a cost-effective solution for customers looking to implement NAS for the first time or expand the capabilities of a storage area network by enabling it to perform NAS functions as well. The EMC NetWin 110 with CLARiiON storage delivers scalable performance and increased data availability versus similar competitive offerings. Featuring simple installation and manageability, it will be made available in both direct-attached and gateway configurations. Trial copies of LEGATO data protection software are also included.
