Hacker David Jeansonne Convicted, Ordered to Make Restitution to Microsoft

Investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property (CHIP) Unit of the United States Attorney's Office, the case against the perpetrator of a Trojan virus attack against Microsoft WebTV subscribers, David Jeansonne, was sentenced on Monday to six months in prison and another six months of home detention. 44 year-old David Jeansonne, from Louisiana, pleaded guilty to intentionally damaging computers and causing a public safety threat. The $27,200 is payable to Microsoft. Microsoft's WebTV has since been renamed MSN TV.
