"The combination of Verari Systems' DataServer and StorageServer products with Chelsio's CX4 10G Storage Accelerators offers customers increased performance, scalability and cabling efficiency, and ultimately more value," said Kevin McGrath, vice president and general manager, Verari Systems Storage Systems Group. "As the result of our relationship with Chelsio and the joint engineering expertise of both companies, we are now providing industry-leading 10G Ethernet solutions to our customers and helping speed the industry to greater adoption of 10G Ethernet connectivity." "Our Unified Wire adapters enable Verari Systems' platforms to simultaneously address storage, clustering and networking markets without requiring specialty switches, gateways or IT personnel," said Kianoosh Naghshineh, president and CEO of Chelsio. "Any generic 10Gb Ethernet switch can be used to deliver the value of fabric convergence. The associated savings in server power and utilities further enhance the total cost of ownership for the data center operators." Verari Systems' Storage Group targets the needs of high-growth Web 2.0 and Grid markets with high density, power and cooling efficient, blade-based storage solutions. Offering dense storage configurations, its DataServer and StorageServer products provide up to 672TB maximum storage capacity while boasting the lowest total cost of ownership. Chelsio adapters are based on the T3 protocol offload engine, a proprietary third generation ASIC that supports a wide range of protocols, and includes virtualization and traffic management capabilities. The T3 engine transforms Ethernet into a reliable, high-speed fabric that enables the Unified Wire, simultaneous support for network applications that traditionally required different fabrics such as Fibre Channel, Infiniband and Ethernet.
